P. Nathan Beckett, DVM
Dr. Beckett started his career in Veterinary medicine as a Veterinary Assistant and then licensed Veterinary Technician before attending Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He returned to Maine and spent 10 years in clinical practice where he acquired invaluable experience in everything from first puppy and kitten appointments, to wellness care, to treating and managing complex injuries and illnesses.
Throughout it all, the appointments that touched him most deeply were the ones when a family was saying goodbye to their beloved companion. Helping pets leave this world with dignity and comfort, and without needless suffering has always felt like the most sacred duty.
After an especially hard year of euthanizing 8 of his personal animals, some at home and some in a clinic setting, he felt called to begin offering in-home hospice and euthanasia services to his fellow Mainers.
Dr. Beckett resides in Exeter, Maine with his wife and daughter and their large personal menagerie of cats, dogs, horses, chickens, small animals, and cockatiel. In his free time he enjoys geocaching, creative writing, running, and kayaking.
